1. What kind of guy is uncle Albert? Uncle Albert is a funny and naive man and he has a good heart. He is a good uncle to Kevin. I guess he hasn’t got a stable job and a fixed salary. So as a result of this, sometimes he remains in bad situation. Also he has some problems at his house. He isn’t a good husband as well because he often goes home late and makes his wife worried. He seems that he doesn’t care anything too much and lives the moment without questioning life. He even doesn’t suspect that Sadie is a Protestant girl although he meets her for the first time.
2. Chapter 8 ends in a cliffhanger (suspenseful conclusion): What do you think will happen next? I think Kevin and Sadie will have a difficult time. Sadie’s family will forbid seeing Kevin again and Mr. Jackson will strongly warn Kevin that he has to stay away from his daughter. But at the end I believe that Sadie and Kevin won’t give up and they will get married and will be happy forever. True love will survive everything! Besides, the civil war will be ended, too.
