  4. Notting Hill Carnival

Over a million people come to London every August for the Notting Hill Carnival. The carnival is a celebration of Caribbean culture and it is the one of the largest street carnival in the world.

Participats spend months preparing their costumes, floats and music for the carnival. One of the main competitions in the carnival is mas. Mas means masquerade. All the costumes and floats take part in the mas competition and there are prizes for the best ones. Lawrence noel is the most famous mas maker. He made the first ever costumes in 1973. He uses wire to make the structure of the costumes then he covers the wire frame with colourful materials. Lawrence learned how to make costumes with his father in Trinidad and he now woeks with his son Roland.

Finally I thougth that this carnival is very funny, exciting and active. I think I should go to this carnival.
