Holiday Homework
I hope everyone enjoys the long holiday.
This is where you will post your responses to the questions about digital storytelling. Follow the instructions below and then add your own post.
Visit http://www.memoryarchive.org/en/MemoryArchive and read one of the memories. Then...
1. Summarize the memory in one or two sentences.
2. Tell why you chose this memory.
3. Compare the memory you chose to one of your own. What did the memory remind you of? What are two or three sensory details about that memory?
Example:
The Napoleon Dynamite Festival, 2005
The Napoleon Dynamite festival takes place in Preston, Idaho and features activities that celebrate the things that everybody remembers from the movie--from tater-tot eating contests to permed hair. The writer talks about her experiences with the friendly "country" people and how much fun she had. I chose this memory because I love the film Napoleon Dynamite. The festival that the memory talks about reminds me of going to county fairs in the summer time. Those county fairs had silly contests that were similar to the ones the writer mentions, like the Elvis look-alike contest or the ugliest dog contest. The memory also reminded me of the food that the the county fairs are famous for--everything from classical cotton candy to deep fried pickles.
